The Platform Project is a not-for-profit social enterprise that helps young people develop their confidence and skills by learning how to work for themselves and run a business. A range of youth enterprise activities help participants try out a wide range of different skills and roles whilst building up their CV in a real environment.
Thanks to funding from #iWill through Wiltshire Community Foundation, the latest youth enterprise project is #iDare - a youth publication which was set up in February 2019 to help young people have a voice and bring about positive social action.
#iDare is run by young people, for young people - the project will see teams of young people in Swindon come together each month throughout 2019 to publish a range of content through articles, blogs, podcasts and videos. The youth team will be doing everything, including creating the content, deciding what gets featured, taking pictures, shooting and editing videos and audio, managing the PR, marketing and social media, designing the website and liaising with professionals and the public.
To give young people a voice on things they are interested in, passionate about, and want to do something about
To give young people a forum where they can bring about social change and take action to improve their world
To inspire and equip young people to embrace life and become the very best version of themselves
“This is by far the most exciting thing I've ever done. I can't believe we get to do this!”
Lucas (participant aged 16)
“I'm really looking forward to the things I'm going to do. I've learnt so much already!”
Chloe (participant aged 18)
