Here are some of the experiences of the participants from our set-up team:
-----------------------------
MONICA:
Over the last few days I've been part of the #iDare set up team and it's been a busy week! I've learnt stronger planning and organizing skills, how to make a podcast/blog and how to advertise them to target audiences.
-----------------------------
CHLOE:
One day I identified a stretch goal, which was to call and email people that I didn't know and to do some writing about my autism. I hadn't done these things before and it was a bit scary but I was really excited when I got responses to my emails! On the second day I did some work on the flyers that will show when the magazine is first published and the front of the first edition, because it's very important to make sure that we make it look good so people look at it.
-----------------------------
PJ:
On the first day I put in my comfort zone designing logos because that is one of my strengths, but I also did stuff from my stretch zone which was organizing an event for the launch of the first copy of the magazine.
-----------------------------
DANIELLE:
Over the week I have spoke in to a microphone and heard my voice back which was weird, but I realised that it was important to let people hear my voice about important issues.
-----------------------------
LISA:
I normally get really shy when I meet new people and the thought of working with people I don't know makes me anxious, but this week the team helped me speak to people I didn't know, and I even did an interview with reporters from the local radio station and newspaper. I have definitely built up my confidence a bit.
