I'm interested in art and how it can inspire people. Then one of the team told me about IPSUM and how you can use art to help people with issues.
After my interview with Julie, who works at IPSUM, I learnt more about the diverting ways messages can be conveyed through art. She explained that it is useful for people who want to escape from the worries and anxieties in their life for a therapeutic experience that allows them to focus on being creative and imaginative.
One great example she brought up was a girl with a serious mental illness leading to self-harm but was brought in to art therapy and got a chance to play the guitar which took her attention away from her bad thoughts and as a result, she has been self-harming much less in recent years.
IPSUM sounds like a helpful service and something useful for anyone interested in art, so take a look at the website!
