People around the world uses this platform for anything, such as the YouTube creators mainly referred as the YouTubers, they make their own content for their viewers to watch to be entertained. The types of video topics it includes are entertainment, influencers, arts & craft, tutorials, gaming, comedy, sports, docuseries, music etc. 

There has been an increase on the amount of YouTube viewers in 2020 and 2021. Due to the YouTube statistics, it has gained 25% increase in watch time in 2020 and 2.3 billion users worldwide in 2021, within this it has been entitled as the second most used popular platform. In fact, the 2.3 billion users include people who log into YouTube every month to watch videos. Besides this, in 2019 79% of the internet users mentioned that they have access to a YouTube account. This leads to having viewers watch over 1 billion hours of videos every day to boost their viewing. YouTube is available for more than 100 countries around the world; they also provide 80 languages for people to watch and understand the video. 

The benefits of YouTube are that it is educational; there are a numerous of videos based on various topics which can teach the individual about something they did not know within a short period. You can easily access it by viewing the videos through a smartphone about the instructions or any kind of information. YouTube has led to the creation of many jobs and income, numerous businesses use YouTube to advertise themselves to gain awareness by uploading their own content. It has helped countless businesses to grow themselves with additional streams and the best quality videos. Likewise, it saves you money when you are to learn something new about a situation, such as tutorials of repairing a product like a scratch on your car. Following this, there are more content with good entertainment especially for the younger generation to learning new things. 

The drawbacks of YouTube are that people now watch different types of videos on their own, and not together as a family for one film. This leads to people not spending family bonding time together as they are on different devices and screens. These days as everything is on online, this happens to be increasing on screen time as people now spend more time watching videos on YouTube. If YouTube would not have existed, then it may have been different. These days there are different contents made by the YouTubers, some videos may give negative energy especially for the younger generations. It may affect the younger generation to following the same lead as the YouTuber but what is shown is wrong. On the other hand, a YouTube may be misinforming people by the information not being exact and be the truth. 

In my opinion, I think that YouTube is a useful social media platform to use for anyone on their everyday life. Even though, there are good and bad sides, but it provides many services for people to have access to anywhere to provide them a better life style. Therefore, YouTube has been a successful platform which has gained great awareness within a short period of time.
