#iDare... To Follow my Interests
I found education in school limiting, so I thought to pursue my own interests in ideologies in the world outside the structures of school and college.
I am interested in the visual medium. I like sci-fi, fantasy, drama, and epic. Particular ones Marvel, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar, Studio Ghibli, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner. I’m interested in how they’re made, how they are produced and the overall storytelling.
Did you know in Psycho, during the scene where Marion Crane is stabbed in the shower, they used chocolate sauce for the blood as it was a black and white film, it worked?
I am also interested in history because it helps me understand humans and how they change over the years. Particular pieces of history that I focus on is Greek history, British history, natural history and history of Eastern cultures. For me, they are a different form of storytelling which makes it useful for how I make my stories work. It is mind-expanding to me and properly stands as education that’s fun.
For example, did you know the Romans were the first to put in proper roads when they first invaded this country? Maybe they could teach the council to do it properly? :)
I am also interested in music because of the many forms it takes which work in different ways for people. Certain sorts that I enjoy are indigenous folk music, film scores, electronic music and experimental music. Particular artists I like are John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Vangelis.
Did you know the first recorded piece of music was a snippet of the French folk song “Au Clair de la Lune”?
If you are interested in these topics, try discovering about them yourself!
Did you know Cleopatra invented the first vibrator using a gourd filled with angry bees?
Did you know Abraham Lincoln was a champion wrestler with only one loss in his career?
Did you know Frankenstein author Mary Shelley kept her dead husband’s heart in a jar and carried it with her until she died?
