One hobby I found enjoying in my spare time is exercise. I do it by walking my dogs, walking to my volunteering workplaces and doing push-ups at home. I used to go to the gym on a regular basis because I really wanted to get fit and physically healthy. I would do ten minutes on the treadmill and spend next hour or two doing weight machines. Taking part in such activities releases endorphins which improve mental health.
If you prefer not to go to the gym, there are alternative ways such as meditation which I have practiced these past couple of years. It helps people to focus on the present moment which results in a happier state of mind. We hope to practice that sort of thing in iDare soon.
The #iDARE youth publication is a a fully funded project open to any young people aged 13-20 (or up to 24 if disabled) based around Swindon.
