How Learning Helps Mental Health
#iDareToLearn
According to the NHS, as part of the Mental Health campaign taking place across October, there are five different areas identified that can improve mental health. These are; connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give.
At the Platform Project, we brainstormed some ideas for each parts of the campaign. Here is a list of some of the ways you can learn and improve your knowledge of the world:
- Screenprism – People find this interesting because it is a free film school
- 1001 films you need to see before you die – A book about films
- IQ’s Corner – A blog exploring the science of intelligence theories
- The Book of Symbolism – A book about the way different things are symbolised through different cultures
- Quadrivium – A book about the four liberal arts; arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy
- The Platform Project - a way of making friends and working together.
- Pick up a new sport - like swimming or tennis.
- Start a new hobby - like drawing or collecting something you're interested in.
- Dye fabric from vegetables - look for organic ideas.
- Making candles.
We hope you found this list helpful. Are there any other ideas you like to suggest? Let us know and most importantly, have fun!
