Being there for the Community during Lockdown

#iDareToBeThereForTheCommunity

I’ve been working with Time To Change Swindon for the past year and have recently become a Time To Change champion in May of this year.

What is the Time To Change movement?

Time to Change is a growing social movement working to change the way we all think and act about mental health problems. They’ve already reached millions of people and begun to improve attitudes and behaviour.

Despite the progress that has been made, we know that many people still don’t consider mental health relevant to them. They don’t believe mental health problems are likely to affect them or people they know.

But the reality is that mental health can affect anyone.

Statistically, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year.

That’s why our work is so important. No one should have to fear being treated differently because of a mental health problem.

Since the UK has been in Lockdown, the Time To Change Steering group (Made up of local Not For Profits and local charities) made the decision to launch a Video to say thank you to everyone in the NHS and local community.

There’s been a number of Projects that I’ve been involved in including creating the bank card sized Talking Points card for Time To Talk day earlier this year and managing the Social Media pages and sharing content throughout our different campaigns such as the Your Space For Head Space magazine we launched in September.

There’s so much more to come from the Time To Change Swindon steering group, so stay tuned!!
